Tunga Lyft lifts soda can for Metso Power in Arauca, Chile

During the strong earthquake earlier in the spring of 2010, the 60-meter-high, 1,000-ton soda boiler had sunk about half a meter due to severe bending of the three-meter-high overhead beams and damage to some of the peripheral equipment. Fortunately, it turned out that the boiler itself survived without serious damage.

A tender was issued and Tunga Lyft was commissioned to lift the boiler on site. Since a lot of the infrastructure in the area was destroyed, it was not easy to get around to examine the conditions and find the best solution to the problem.
