At the end of the 19th century, a playhouse was built under the direction of Louise De Geer, née Sparre, as part of the construction of an entire castle. This was after she and her brother, Johan Sparre, received land and funds from their parents to build their own castle.
– Her brother built Brogård Castle, now called Bro Hof Castle, while Louise built Lejondal Castle, and for her daughter Elisabeth she also built the beautiful playhouse,” says Louise’s great-granddaughter, Caroline Meyer Lagersparre.
As the years passed, Lejondal was sold, but Caroline’s grandmother Ebba Reuterskiöld, née von Rosen, inherited Brogård Castle and managed to buy the playhouse. So in 1944 it was moved there instead, and was now played with by Caroline’s mother Christina and her siblings. When the time came in 1968 for Christina to leave castle life for a house in Stocksund, she did not want to part with the playhouse, and a few years later it was allowed to move with her. But when it was left there, things almost went badly wrong; the playhouse almost toppled over when it was placed at the bottom of a hill on the site. All went well in the end, however, and there it has been until a few weeks ago. Recently Caroline’s mother passed away, so now it was time for Caroline herself to take over the beautiful and historic playhouse that has been passed down through five generations of strong women.
From the move in the 1970s. In Stocksund, the playhouse was painted white and wallpapered, and later painted in the same yellow color with white knots and green stairs as the house in Stocksund, as well as the house in Svinninge.
No job is too advanced for Tunga Lyft
The move would now go to Svinninge, but once again it turned out to be easier said than done. Due to the location on a hill far into the site, several lifting companies declined the job, claiming it was impossible. Until we at Tunga Lyft were asked, of course.
The big challenge was that the cottage was 38 meters into the plot, and the crane truck can handle 34 meters. So we had to make a special trolley for the task, and with the help of claw jacks lift the playhouse, which weighs just over 1 ton. Then we dragged the four
meters so the crane truck could pick it up and carry it on to new games for generations to come.
