For more than 160 years, the white marble statue of Oscar I has stood in the Stock Exchange building on Gustaf Adolfs torg in Gothenburg. The statue was made by the Gothenburg-born sculptor Johan Peter Molin. The statue was moved by a special transport by Tunga Lyft to Higab’s headquarters.
The entire Börskvarteret is now evacuated pending foundation reinforcement and rebuilding.In order to drive the piles for the foundation reinforcement, the floors need to be dismantled and even royalty will have to move.
