Gothenburg is in the process of becoming a green city in a growing and sustainable region, and the extension of the West Link is one of the key elements to make this possible.
This will increase capacity for trains in Gothenburg and make it much easier to use public transport.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place in May 2018, and we at Tunga Lyft have for several months helped NCC transport reinforcement baskets from the manufacturing site meters out to the assembly site, which will then be used for the tunnel walls.
Each rebar basket is 25 meters long, 7 meters wide and 1 meter thick. This shows the lifting of the rebar basket at 8 lifting points.
In total, we will run 200 transports of 38 tons each, and so far we have managed almost 70 of them, which we were able to do by welding two trailers together into a double trailer, and then building a special structure on top of the steel structure of the trailer itself. The entire conk is then pulled 3-400 meters using an 8-wheel Tatra truck.

The moment when the rebar basket is raised and lowered into the shaft where it is cast into wall elements with about 220 cubic meters of concrete.
The entire West Link project is expected to be completed in 2026, but those waiting for something good will simply have to wait a little longer.
