The square at Holländareplatsen will soon be decorated with a new work of art. It is not entirely new, however, as it has already stood for a number of years at Bernhards Gränd, but in a slightly more secluded location, making the square a perfect place to enjoy it in all its glory.
The artwork consists of four wedge-shaped granite columns about 3.6 meters high that are arched towards the top where they hold a massive copper ball.
Each piece weighs around 1.5 – 2 tons each, so we reworked the whole piece and used a spreader yoke to move one piece at a time and let them rest on a Styrofoam bed for a while.
In a few weeks we will then transport the parts to Holländareplatsen and install the artwork, so you can already start looking forward to pictures of the final result!
