On the route between Hällnäs and Lycksele up to 8 passenger trains and 5 freight trains pass daily. The only problem is that the railway is single track and as it stands today, trains cannot meet, which sometimes leads to delays.
But now the Åmsele depot is being upgraded to allow trains to meet, and an extra track will be built here to increase flexibility and reduce the risk of train delays.
As part of the preparations, a 250-ton pedestrian tunnel had to be moved 20 meters, and we at Heavy Lyft managed the launch this weekend.
The work is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019, and the route will then suffer far fewer disruptions.
