MCA Lyft & Montage was founded in 1999 by Mats Andersson. Together with Thomas Andersson, the company has grown to become a renowned local player in heavy lifting in the Gothenburg area. In recent years, the company has focused on growing its heavy duty escalator handling business. Assignments are carried out nationwide for all the major escalator manufacturers. The company has a turnover of about 20 MSEK and about 7 employees.
Peter Revay, CEO of Tunga Lyft in Sweden, essentially says that the acquisition was made for two reasons. “First, the Gothenburg region is a very attractive region, with major investments in both infrastructure and industry. With this in mind, the acquisition of MCA gives Tunga Lyft an increased local presence. Secondly, MCA brings specialist expertise in escalators as a business area, which strengthens Tunga Lyft’s overall offering. Over time, we see a clear opportunity to take this product into the international arena.” says Peter Revay.
Thomas Andersson, Head of Escalators and former owner, says that “Heavyweight Lyft with a strong position in the market, provides a good basis for MCA to continue its expansion. This enables the company to grow locally in western Sweden and to take part in major infrastructure projects, which would have been difficult to manage as a smaller company. Furthermore, Tunga Lyft’s nationwide organization provides the opportunity to further strengthen the escalator business and develop the offer to customers.”
